Mimic Octopus

Original look of the Mimic Octopus

Mimic octopus disguising like a jellyfish

1st pic it tried to transform like a flounder, 2nd pic like a Lion fish, 3rd pic poisonous sea snake

This Mimic octopus adapted the color of the sand to protect itself from predators

Mimic Octopus was  discovered in 1998 off the coast of Sulawesi, Indonesia. It can change  its color and texture, and can blend with the sea floor, appearing as rocks or sand, the mimic octopus is the first octopus species ever observed to impersonate other animals.
It can  impersonate  into more than 15 species including sea snakes, lionfish, flatfish, brittle stars, giant crabs, sea shells, stingrays, flounders, jellyfish, sea anemones, and mantis shrimp.
Based on observation, the mimic octopus may decide which animal to impersonate depending on local predators. For example, when the octopus was being attacked by damselfish, it was observed that the octopus appeared as a banded sea snake, a damselfish predator. Very tricky eh?!

Watch Mimic Octopus' abilities on this Video below:

Pretty cool, Very cool!!..it was just one of the most amazing animal that God had created...I have'nt seen this animal yet but I hope sooner or later, I will. Inspite of its inocence a dark side of it comes. It is one of the most poisonous creature in the world. So let's just be careful.Ok.
