Pamukkale Hot Spring ,Turkey

 The strange and weirdly beautiful terraced pools of Pamukkale have been appreciated for over two millennia and yet still remain a little known wonder of the world. 

Pammakale means Castle of Cotton but the Greco-Romans built a town above it called Heirapolis which  means Holy City or Sacred City. They too recognized it as a rare and important place attributing healing powers to the milky-white waters.

A lot of domestic and foreign tourists travel each year. Pamukkale Travertines, the springs of Pamukkale gave rise to these geological phenomena cover a wide area. In this area, there are several hot water springs which have  temperature between 35 until 100 degrees. The thermal springs of Pamukkale  form an integral part of the regions potential for tourism and have been popular since ancient times.

This Mimic octopus adapted the color of the sand to protect itself from predators

Mimic Octopus was  discovered in 1998 off the coast of Sulawesi, Indonesia. It can change  its color and texture, and can blend with the sea floor, appearing as rocks or sand, the mimic octopus is the first octopus species ever observed to impersonate other animals.

It can  impersonate  into more than 15 species including sea snakes, lionfish, flatfish, brittle stars, giant crabs, sea shells, stingrays, flounders, jellyfish, sea anemones, and mantis shrimp.  

Based on observation, the mimic octopus may decide which animal to impersonate depending on local predators. For example, when the octopus was being attacked by damselfish, it was observed that the octopus appeared as a banded sea snake, a damselfish predator. Very tricky eh?!

Pretty cool, Very cool!!..it was just one of the most amazing animal that God had created...I have'nt seen this animal yet but I hope sooner or later, I will. Inspite of its inocence a dark side of it comes.It is one of the most poisonous creature in the world. So let's just be careful.Ok.

I was surprised to find that there are more than one species of Lyrebird.  

A Lyrebird is either of two species of ground-dwelling Australian birds, known for their superb ability to mimic natural and artificial sounds from their sorroundings and environment. It has a unique plumes of neutral coloured tailfeathers..

Lyrebirds was considered as  Australia's best-known native birds. As well as their extraordinary mimicking ability, because of their courtship display, lyrebirds are notable because of the striking beauty of the male bird's huge tail when it is fanned out in display.

Sigiriya or also known as Lion's rock is an ancient rock fortress ,  one of the seven World Heritage Sites of Sri Lanka. palace ruin situated in the central Matale District of Sri Lanka, surrounded by the remains of an extensive network of gardens, reservoirs, and other structures. It is a popular tourist destination.  It  is also renowned for its ancient paintings called frescos, which are reminiscent of the Ajanta Caves of India. It was built during the reign of King Kassapa I (AD 477 – 495).

Sigiriya may have been inhabited through prehistoric times. It was used as a shelter mountain monastery from about the 5th century BC, with caves prepared and donated by devotees to the Buddhist Sangha.

This Buddhist temple includes several imposing buildings and is situated not far from the placid waters of Beira Lake on a plot of land that was originally a small hermitage on a piece of marshy land. It has the main features of a Vihara (temple), the Cetiya (Pagada) the Bodhitree, the Vihara Mandiraya, the Seema malaka(assembly hall for monks) and the Relic Chamber. In addition, a museum, a library, a residential hall, a three storeyed Pirivena, educational halls and an alms hall are also on the premises. 

Most notable for tourists is the architecture of the Simamalaka Shrine which was built with donations from a Moslem sponsor to the design of Geoffrey Bawa.

The Neuschwanstein Castle was  Built in the late 1800s, it is in the state of Bavaria in southeast Germany was meant to be the private retreat of the reclusive King Ludwig II of Bavaria. The castle was opened to the public in 1886 and it has seen over 60 million visitors since then. The Castle was built in the Romanesque Revival style and was the inspiration for Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty castle. The castle is one of the most popular in Europe and currently sees over 1.3 million visitors every  year and as many as 6,000 per day in the summer months.,A lot right.?

St Isaac’s cathedral Interior Golden relieves and Paintings

St Isaac’s cathedral is one of the world’s biggest orthodox churches,was ordered by Tsar Alexader I, to replace an earlier Rinaldiesque  structure. A specially appointed commission examined several designs, including that of the French-born architect Auguste de Montferrand (1786–1858).It was built 40 years 1818-1858. 

The interior is richly decorated with paintings,icons,frescos,mosaics and golden relieves. The cathedral has places for over 14.000 people inside.
